- Facilitate positive outcomes from the Base Realignment And Closure program, both
within and outside the MCB Quantico and Fort Belvoir installations
- Identify and take maximum advantage of available BRAC-related business opportunities
- Upgrade the workforce to meet identified needs
- Improve the flow of information amongst all interested parties
- Form partnerships with key individuals and organizations
- Build relationships in support of mutual interests.
The three key areas of focus are:
- Data/Research
- Public Relations/Community Outreach
- Education/Training
The Alliance is an outgrowth of a nine month community dialogue project initiated by Northern Virginia Community College’s Woodbridge Campus. The project engaged community and business leaders in a series of focus groups that explored the impact of BRAC expansions in Prince William County. We have now opened our program to include participants from Stafford and Fairfax Counties.
Among the project outcomes to date:
- A new BRAC website on the Quantico website
- An extension of Mason Enterprise Center’s business services to NOVA’s Woodbridge Campus
- A community-targeted BRAC website on the website for NOVA’s Woodbridge Campus
- Exploration of customer service training for employees of County businesses
- A proposal to the Commonwealth of Virginia for funding for workforce development
The highest priority was to begin forming a standing business alliance. The objective of this alliance is to ensure the community, as well as MCB Quantico and Fort Belvoir, enjoy the maximum benefits of these expansions – including opportunities for business and job growth. We are offering Founding Memberships to those organizations interested in forming the Quantico/Belvoir Regional Business Alliance and who would like to receive permanent recognition, as well as other benefits, for their support and efforts.
